Part of my mission as convention committee chair is to improve transparency surrounding the convention. My hope is to give people a peek behind the scenes so members have a better sense of how convention is run and how decisions are made. Accordingly, the convention committee developed the following information, describing how science submissions are evaluated, the location for conference is selected, and registration costs are determined respectively. Please share this information with other SPSP members or attendees so we can spread this information widely.
The SPSP Government Relations Committee (GRC) is seeking short summaries (100 words or less) of social psychological research that addresses  pressing societal concerns. Examples include research on climate change, opioid use, health care access, sexual assault, etc. We are particularly interested in receiving submissions from graduate students and will offer free SPSP registration for the three best submissions (selected by members of the SPSP GRC). Sample vignettes can be viewed here.
SPSP is pleased to announce the appointment of Jarret Crawford to its Board of Directors. Following the membership vote to approve a new Member at Large, Crawford was appointed by SPSP President Linda Skitka to fulfill the position.
